Similar in size and activities to a state park, Bear Creek Lake Park is a 2,624-acre gem that provides opportunities to hike, picnic, camp, fish, boat, windsurf, mountain or road bike, hit the swim beach or head to the archery range. Please stay out of these areas (posted with signs) to avoid damaging very muddy trails. Staff are working to repair both accessible fishing piers and will have them in service as soon as possible.ĭirt Trails: Sections of the following trails remain flooded or damaged. Fishing pier requires repairs and is not open yet.Lower Pelican point has reopened for use.No roadside parking to launch boats, please.Hand launched boats are allowed, no trailer launched boats.Restrooms, shelters, docks and piers are still in the lake.Please note the following closures and suggestions and observe posted signs throughout the park. We will plan to reopen as usual on July 27.Īs a result of the recent rainfall, the water level at Bear Creek Reservoir is over capacity resulting in many impacts to park amenities and trails. As with the last closure, this will be done so that we can apply a product to pre-treat the lake to help prevent blue-green algae blooms this summer. Soda Lake will be closed July 26 for our second application of blue-green treatment.
